Earlier this year, freshman Benjamin Zobian represented Wyomissing Area at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC for the second year in a row.
After winning Wyomissing Area’s 6-8th grade spelling bee, Ben progressed through county and district competition to eventually become one of seven Pennsylvania students to participate in the National Bee.
Previous competitor Caroline Allen also won Pennsylvania spelling bees and participated in the National Spelling Bee in 2016. In both 2018 and 2019, Ben progressed through several rounds of the competition and met competitors from all over the world during his weeklong stay in DC.
Wyomissing Area is proud to have had Ben as a representative in the Bee.
