New Student Portal
We are excited to share that when your student launches the Chrome browser on their school device, they will be taken directly to the NEW Student Portal.

The Student Portal provides students with one convenient location to access many of the websites, resources, and information they use throughout the school year. We encourage students and parents/guardians to explore the portal together and become familiar with the resources available.

Some of the key resources available through the Student Portal include:

• Schoology – Access courses, assignments, instructional materials, and other classroom resources.
• PowerSchool SIS – View course schedules, grades, attendance, and other student information.
• ClassLink – Quickly access the online applications and educational resources students use for school.
• Athletics – Find information about sports, teams, and athletic opportunities.
• Activities & Clubs – Explore extracurricular activities and clubs and learn how to get involved.
• School Counseling – Find counseling resources and information to support academic planning and future goals.
• Naviance – Access college and career planning resources.
• Student Handbook – Review important school policies, procedures, and expectations.
• Program of Studies – Explore course offerings, graduation requirements, and academic pathways.
• Library – Access the school library and online library resources.
• Lunch Menus – Quickly find current school lunch information.
• StudentSquare – Access important school communications and updates.

The portal also features important announcements and reminders throughout the school year, making it a helpful starting point for students each day.

We encourage families to take a few minutes to visit the Student Portal and explore the available resources. Whether students are checking their schedule, accessing a class in Schoology, reviewing grades in PowerSchool, looking for a club or athletic opportunity, or finding information from the Counseling Office, the Student Portal is designed to make these resources easy to find.

We hope the new Student Portal becomes a valuable “one-stop” resource for our students and families throughout the school year!
 

New School Bookmarks

In Tech Tip #1 we introduced the new Student Portal for students - now we are excited to share preset School Bookmarks!  For your convenience, these new bookmarks will be located in your Google Chrome browser’s Bookmark Bar in a folder labeled WYOAREA. This folder will provide quick access to the websites and resources you use most throughout the school year.  The resources linked here will continue to grow and expand throughout the school year!

The goal of the WYOAREA bookmark folder is to make it easier for students to quickly find the tools and information they need without having to search for each website individually.  Students can add their own bookmarks and folders but the WYOAREA folder will always be present on every student’s device.

Whether you are checking grades, accessing assignments, communicating with teachers or the school, working in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, finding counseling resources, exploring internship opportunities, or accessing important school information, the WYOAREA folder will provide a convenient starting point for all.

Start Organized, Stay Organized!

A new school year is the perfect time to get your Google Drive organized before assignments, notes, projects, and resources begin piling up.  A simple folder system can make it much easier to find what you need when you need it.

Step 1:  Start with an “Old Files” Folder

Before creating your new school-year folders, move files from previous years into one folder, such as:  Old School Files

This keeps your current Drive clean without deleting files you may want to reference later.  Next, create one main folder:

• 2026–2027 School Year

Step 2:  Setup Your Courses

Inside that folder, create a separate folder for each course or subject. For example:

• AP Statistics
• Literature
• Chemistry
• Orchestra
• Personal Fitness

You can then organize each course folder even further. For example, inside AP Statistics, you might create:

• Class Notes
• Assignments
• Projects
• Study Materials
• Tests & Quizzes

A Few Tips for Staying Organized

• Use consistent file names. Try including the assignment name and date, such as APStats_Chapter1_Notes_Aug2026.
• Clean up regularly. Spend a few minutes each week moving files into the correct folders.  Avoid a crowded “My Drive.” Your main Drive should be a starting point—not a giant pile of files!
• A little organization now can save you a lot of time later—and make the school year feel much more manageable.

Schoology

Students: Click SSO to sign in. Do not enter your email address or username directly.

1. Click SSO.

2. Enter the school ZIP code: 19610.

3. Select Wyomissing Area JSHS.

4. You will be directed to the regular Google login page.

5. Sign in using your school Google account.

What is Schoology?
Schoology is our Learning Management System (LMS). Students and parents can use it to view assignments, course materials, and educational activities.

ClassLink

Students: Use your school email address and district password to log in.

What is ClassLink?
ClassLink is a cloud-based platform that provides single sign-on (SSO) access to many of the digital learning apps, textbooks, and files used at school. With ClassLink, students and teachers can access many resources using their standard school email and district password.

StudentSquare

Students: When signing in to StudentSquare, click Google and use your standard school Google login.

What is StudentSquare?
StudentSquare is a secure communication platform designed for students. It works alongside ParentSquare and allows students to message teachers, receive school and district announcements, view calendars, and stay connected with school activities.

Printing with PaperCut

Our school uses PaperCut to manage printing on Chromebooks, giving students a simple and reliable way to send assignments, projects, and classwork straight to a school printer. Knowing how to print correctly isn't just a technical skill — it saves time, avoids wasted paper, and helps you stay on top of deadlines when an assignment is due in class. Whether you're finishing a lab report or printing out notes before an exam, understanding how printing works means fewer surprises and less scrambling right before the bell rings.

1. Open the file, photo, or webpage you want to print.
2. Press Ctrl+P.
3. In the printer dropdown, select the correct school printer (check with your teacher for the printer name if unsure).
4. If the printer is not listed in the drop-down, click on See more, and select the Follow Me Printer from the list. There will be a green icon indicating the correct printer
5. Choose print settings as needed (number of copies, color vs. black & white, single vs. double-sided).
6. Click Print 
7. At first print, the students will be asked to sign in. Sign in using their student number and password. DO NOT CLICK THE GOOGLE BUTTON OR ENTER AN EMAIL ADDRESS.
8. Go to the printer to enter the student number and release the print job. 

Why keyboard shortcuts matter

Every time you reach for the trackpad instead of using a shortcut, you lose a few seconds — and across a class period, a semester, or four years of school, that adds up fast. Shortcuts like Ctrl + T for a new tab or Ctrl + Z to undo a mistake keep you working without breaking focus, which means better attention and less wasted time during assignments and deadlines. Getting comfortable with them now also builds a habit that carries into college and beyond, since students who know their shortcuts spend less time fighting their tools and more time actually getting work done — so start with a few, and add more once they're automatic.
